New kitchen in prewar apartment building in Upper Manhattan. Gut renovation streamlines functionality and optimizes storage within a tight footprint. Open shelving above wall cabinets capitalizes on high ceilings. Built-in convection oven maximizes workspace at the quartz countertops and matching bar that lines a classic New York passthrough to the dining area beyond.

The rich palette evokes the Northeast coastline with shifting allusions to forest and sea. Deep, blue-green walls—teal against the bright LED under-cabinet lighting,  rendered emerald in the glow of the brass-and-glass pendant fixture overhead—extend from clay red, large-format porcelain floor tiles. Wavy, biscuit-colored Italian laminate cabinet fronts and the pearl-grey quartz, speckled black and white, recall beach sand and stone.
